My name is David Sigismund and I am 30 years old. I was born with a moderately severe bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. I have a background in Neuroscience from UCSC. I am currently working with a family business mapping out a gold ore body in Nevada. I am also a private tutor.
My blog will be an amalgamation of my thoughts on:
-technology and how the tools it creates can aid and enrich the lives of the hearing impaired
-my personal experiences from thirty years of having a hearing impairment
-advocating for the fundamental and basic rights of those of us who hear less than “normal” and health care that provides for hearing aids and the integral support of an audiologist during and after a hearing aid fitting, full closed captioning support, and many other pertinent issues facing us.
This site will be an idiosyncratic work in progress. Your thoughts and constructive criticisms are encouraged. And may you find something that is of use and worth your time here.

David I’m so very impressed with your website! I’ve turned friends and family on to it, keep up with the amazing work. I know I sound just like an Aunt, but, you’re sooooo smart, funny too. So proud of you
